Trojan.Patched.V
Hello all.
I'm running Bit Defender and it came up with Trojan.Patched.V in Windows\sys32\route.exe. I did a google search as well as a TSF search and didn't really find much it (found patched.b variant on bit defender site). So I was wondering if this could be a false positive or is it a rose by another name and if so what's the name? Bit defender was only able to quarintine the file not disinfect. Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Re: Trojan.Patched.V
Hi Matt
Trouble is, each AV company creates different names for every trojan etc. Route.exe is legit (as you're no doubt aware) and the fact that it is in the System32 folder is OK. If in doubt, you could always submit the file to VirusTotal or to Jotti File Scan. Instructions are basically the same - look for the 'file to upload' button/box and type in the full path to the file. You might also want to scan with Ad-Aware or AVG Anti Spyware as a precaution, but it does sound like a false positive.
