[RESOLVED] Weird command prompt running
Hello,
whenever i turn on my computer... randomly during the session my computer runs this weird local/ temps thing and the command prompt pops up and white line about 1 cm long shoots all around it popping up in random locations. What is this? I scan with anti-virus and don't find anything.? Thanks Justin

Re: Weird command prompt running
To disable remote access, I'm only familiar with XP, right-click MyComputer, go to menu on far right, and there should be a check box for Remote Access.
I'm not sure of this as I'm running Linux right now, but I know it's accessed via right-click of Mycomputer. What I like to do is go into the options of it, disable invitations, and also set a password. Then disable the entire feature. This aids in preventing random seats of someone overriding a registry setting. |

Re: Weird command prompt running
For safety measures, do a search for "Online scan" and try some of the recommended sites. I know Symantec, Trend Micro, and BitDefender have good online, free scans that can detect malware and other threats.
They often include instructions for manual removal, too. |

Re: Weird command prompt running
You don't need to post the logs here. If the online scans detect anything or you still have your oroginal problem, follow the instructions here and then post all the requested logs in a new thread here for the security analysts to look at.
Post your msconfig startup list. Start > Run > msconfig > Startup tab

Screenshot of msconfig startup list or copy down the program names.

Re: Weird command prompt running
Ok, on your keyboard, there is a button labelled PrtSC it stands for Printscreen. Press the button.
The Open up paint. Click on start, Run and type in MSpaint. When Paint appears, click on Edit Paste. Then save the file File, Save In your next post, click on the little paper clip in the toolbar, then choose your file. |

Re: Weird command prompt running
To take a screenshot, press the PrintScreen button on your keyboard. This saves the screen to the clipboard. Open any image editor like Paint or Photoshop. Create a new image and hit Ctrl-V to paste the screen. Save it as a compressed jpg (try to keep the size below 100kb). Then go to an upload site like ImageShack or Putfile, submit your screenshot jpg. It will give you an URL. Copy/paste this into your next reply.
Or use the Attachments button in the reply toolbar (click image below to see fullsize)
