Maybie your sister has tried to directly connect to another computer (ie: some voice chat or IM program) but your network forbids this type of connection without lowering your security settings. Ask what she was doing right before the error happend and report back here

Re: What's this warning in event viewer about?

I think it might be msn related. My firewall shows she attempted to make an msn call, but this occured at a different time to the warnings. Also, she only seemed to try this once, and the warnings have happened quite a lot. I dont know what she could be doing for the warnings to appear. She's away right now, and i dont know what to ask her really, she'll think im being paranoid anyway.

Also when she uses the computer, in internet explorer history there is a file or two called rad.msn. This is related to advertisements on msn as far as i know, but i dont know why it would appear only when she uses msn etc. Also, i've got it placed in the hosts file on my computer, so i dont understand it really. Any help, anyone?

Re: What's this warning in event viewer about?

Try re-installing MSN and delete all temporary files and page veiw history. I dont know much about Internet related problems, so if none of that works you may need to wait until somone else sees the post

Re: What's this warning in event viewer about?

i dont think there's anything technically wrong with msn, there's just something she's doing on it to get these warnings

Re: What's this warning in event viewer about?

Ahh okay. In that case, she may have downloaded an add on or a custom emotion set or something not produced by Microsoft. This may have corrupted or damaged a file, and when this file is run ~ an error gets produced.

Or it could be another matter, but it is impossible to tell unless she is clear about what she is doing right up to the error.

Also, are you sure it has never happened when you were on?

Re: What's this warning in event viewer about?

Yeah I'm pretty sure it only happens when she uses it. The error statement makes it appear that it's because there is some sort of attempt at making a connection with another computer, perhaps?

Yes, the error states a TCPIP which indicates direct connection. Maybie this isn't your problem, but the person whom your sister is trying to connect to.

Re: What's this warning in event viewer about?

I asked my sister, and she logged onto her msn address. The rad.msn thing just appeared at the bottom, i dont think there's a problem as it's blocked out.

Anyway, I still dont know about the TCP/IP thing. I asked if my sister ever attempted to make some sort of connection to other people's msn, but she said no. I kinda thought it might be because on her msn, 31 people were online. Does anyone know if this could cause the warning by itself? I'm not sure, as long as nothing happens. Also, could having so many people online at once be a drain on memory?

Re: What's this warning in event viewer about?

No not at all, it may slow down the internet, but it should never show a message, on mine i have over 50 ppl on at one time. If it isn't the Direct connection, maybie you have an IP conflict. How many computers are in your household

Re: What's this warning in event viewer about?

It's the only computer, and the message is only something that appears in event viewer. I dont have that much RAM either (about 640 MB). Um, well i guess i'll see if the message continues to appear. It is only a warning, not an error, so hopefully it isn't doing any harm, though i still can't understand the cause.

Nothing to do with RAM, Do me a favor, if the problem becomes a serious annoyance or damages your system files, come back here and i will help you some more. I'm going to do research on it to see what i can learn about this problem.

I am terribly sorry that I cannot help you.
