Wowexec Spyware or Malware?
Recently, i have run security task manager, and found a process named wowexec. I have researched it for many hours but was unable to determine whether it was a virus/spyware/or a trojan.
Can anyone assist me in this matter? Thanks TechHelp24

Re: Wowexec Spyware or Malware?
Quote:
wow.exe is usually associated with "World of Warcraft", it can also be for a 16bit application. Nine times out of ten it will 'dissappear' on rebooting the system. For more information, there are a number of references for wow.exe on Google™. Here is one snippet of information that I was able to find for you... Quote:
Hope this helps; however, if you are still in doubt, I would recommend that you post a query with the HJT Forum and let one of the analysts assess it for you. Having said this, if it reads wowexec.exe or anything other than wow.exe it would be more than likely a malware/spyware issue, and you really need the assistance of The HJT Forum Team. Kind Regards,
