Webpage Hijack?
Hello everyone there, I'm not sure whether here is the thread that i should post my problem. Anyway, just give it a try.
My friend's blog is being redirected to other website whenever i try to visit the page. It happen once in a while. There are alot pop-ups also, even i succesfully get into its original blog. What may have happened behind the scene? It is possible for hackers to hack an url, and redirect it to other nasty webpages? If yes, what are solutions? The blog is hosted by blogspot.com. I wish my question is clear. If not, just ask for more info. Thanks in advance.

Thanks scotty for your advice. I have tested my friend's blog using other pc. It turns out the same. Should it be the problem of the webpage itself rather than my computer system? My pc is working pretty well for surfing websites except for my friend's blog, that is why i felt weird.

Re: Webpage Hijack?
Hi there, I'm having a similar problem with cbox and blogger blogs. A few weeks ago I noticed my blog served up an ad whenever it loaded. I pinpointed the problem to cbox and have since changed my blog over to shoutbox, another tagboard service which works fine now.
But now whenever I load any other blog which has cbox tagboard installed, the pop-up ad will launch automatically and redirect me to the ad page. Also, if I leave a tag on the cbox and hit 'go', the same ad will also pop-up. I'm using Safari to browse on a mac. Tried resetting safari, deleting my prefs plist, but the same ad keeps popping up on any blog with cbox. Surprisingly, this problem also affects another browser that I use, Camino, and also on my iPod touch Safari browser. I don't think it's a virus or adware (are there any on mac?), and I also don't think it's just cbox doing their advertising, because this happens EVERYTIME I tag on a cbox and is annoying. I believe however that this problem is only peculiar to my machine because on other PCs the tagging goes on fine. Maybe it's a form of malware, but it affects my iPod touch too and is there malware for the iPod?? |
