Anit Virus Download
Excuse me if this has been covered before, but I just found this forum this morning and haven't had time to do a search.
Here's the first problem. I downloaded Download Acclerator Plus, I don't like it but it won't let me uninstall it. The secont problem. I was using AVG free anti virus program. The 7.1 has expired and I've tried twice to download the 7.5 and it will get up to about 80% and stop saying there was a error. I had no problem downloading the AVG a couple years ago, but that was before I downloaded the Download Acclerator Plus program. Any one have any ideas for me? I would really like to get rid of the download acclerator. Also are there any other good free anti virus programs out there? I'm on a fixed income and cannot afford to buy one at this time. Thanks Mcfay |

To uninstall DAP, you first need to disable it.
Right click the icon of DAP in the system tray and choose "Disable downloads by DAP". Then try to uninstall it. If that doesn't work, try uninstalling it in safe mode. To start in safe mode (should you need to): Restart your computer and boot into Safe Mode by tapping the F8 key repeatedly until a menu shows up (and choose Safe Mode from the list). In some systems, this may be the F5 key, so try that if F8 doesn't work. Login on your usual account. Here are a few very good free Antivirus products which are available:

Thank you for the reply. I finely
realized I could disable the DAP and then downloaded the AVG. I have been using the AVG a couple years but when I had to update to the 7.5 the DAP wouldn't let me download. Now it's fixed and I now have my computer protected again. |
