pc-cillin internet security 2007 sending emails/attachments

when sending emails with large attachments e.g 2 0r 3mb, they sit in the outbox and keep sending several times even 20 times to myself and various contacts. this never happened when i was using Norton. i`m wondering if the pc-cillin scanning has something to do with it. has anyone experienced this? cheers-terrace

pc-cillin internet security sending emails/attachments

hello again re emails sending in multiples and sitting in outbox. i contacted trend micro and they came back with the following concerning " timeout settings ":-1. for ms outlook 2003-click on tools>email-accounts 2. a window will appear. under the email option, choose the 2nd option which is: view or change email accounts 3. click on next 4. highlite the name you see there by clicking on it. 5. click change. 6. click on more settings. 7. click on advanced.8.set the server timeouts to maximum by dragging the meter to maximum level. 9. also, check the server names and port numbers of both POP3 and SMTP if they are the correct ones from your ISP. NOTE. POP3`s default port number is port 110 and SMTP is port 25. if your ISP uses different ports, please edit the SMTP and POP3 settings on the exception list on the personal firewall of pci-cillin. now, after going through this procedure and sending my emails with large attachments to myself e.g. 1mb-2mb-7mb are sending successfully and not in multiples. the 7mb took over 30 minutes to come through to me. the larger they are the longer they stay in the outbox but it is normal for them to stay there for a time. at the moment it seems this simple thing is the solution. i`m sure a lot of people already know about this but a lot don`t. there is a procedure for outlook express similar to this. i can post it if any one wants it. after trying to solve this on other forums it didn`t take long on this forum to get somewhere. cheers to all
