Hi,
Not long ago, when our previous Anti-Virus expired, I decided to download a free trial of Mcafee Virus Scan as a temporary replacement. Now, we already have Mcafee Personal Firewall, the full thing. Anyway, now the Virus Scan has become useless and annoying, as has the 'Security Centre' that came with it- it repeatedly tells me my computer is not fully protected, minimizing what I was doing. I tried uninstalling them but I only managed the Virus Scan and not the Security Centre. It says I need to uninstall the legacy programs first. It's really annoying and I need some help removing it (without getting rid of the Firewall )Thanks |

i remember quite a bit about uninstalling mcafee. i had to go to their help and write down the total procedure. at the time i didn't know how to copy and paste. then i had to follow the instructions exactly the way they instructed me to. it took hours. don't do a thing until you have all the information well organized. by far, the hardest programme that i have ever removed.

Thanks alot, but it says that program will remove all Mcafee products- as I said before, the Personal Firewall isnt a problem and we've paid and subscribed for that. The firewall, in Program Files appears under Mcafee.com, whilst the rest of the unwanted Mcafee softeware appears in a folder just called Mcafee. I dont know if that'll help. I have tried simply deleting that folder but it wont let me.
