Should i reformat or de-malware my cpu?
First of all, I really appreciated the guide for hjt and the adaware etc. you posted as a sticky '5 Step process' in the other section. I am wondering, if it best I should reformat my xp cpu or attempt to repair it. I would prefer to repair it, and I am guessing I only need to the tools listed in the sticky '5 step process.' I haven't repaired since 2004, and never found the tools to be perfect in achieving 100% satisfactory restoration. I am kind of a perfectionist, so is it a black and white no that my system cannnot be restored to it's original state? I am asking for a recommendation please. Thanks in advance -Peter

i scan with many different scanners listed at www.virus.gr. these are all legitimite companies. if you have malware, you need to detect it at the very least. then you can look for a specific tool to fix it. many of them will also remove the malware. remember to pause protection with your current av real-time/residential protection, while you scan with a different scanner, then re-enable it when you're done.
there are also these tools right here at techsupportforums: Users Self Help Malware Removal Guide if these things don't work, then i suggest you follow these instructions and post a hijackthis log here, and have an expert review it.
