Hi,

I installed VISTA TRANSFORMATION PACK 6.0 and have been noticing some unusual activities:

1) Every time I boot, McAfee detects a suspicious script & pops up with the following message, asking me to 'ALLOW, STOP or CANCEL'

Suspicious Script Stopped!
File: sidebar.exe
Activity: The script is attempting to call the RegRead mentod within IWshShell3 object.

2) My net connection keeps sending & receiving bytes even after I have closed all the browsers/ downloads etc.

Have read in the latest reviews at Download.com, that this software contains virus. Therefore, kindly assist to verify that is there a virus/ malware along with the software.

there is no virus in the transformation pack as i use it myself and have scanned it accesively. i am not sure where you may have downloaded it from i did from cnet and it was clean.

the sidebar is the right clear bar that comes with the pack usually containing a clock and a note pad calendar like thing. this starts through the registry there for the registry pop up. there should be an option "always allow".

the sending bites and recieving them is usual for any computer hooked up via an ethernet cable and having an always on connection or being hooked up to a router.

this is just some information i know and should be regarded but it still might help to get your HJT log examined by a professional

1) I downloaded the pack from Download.com
2) The sending & receiving small packets is normal but it was continuously receiving data as if downloading some files.
3) Is running of sidebar script into suspicion by McAfee normal?

Fr4665 aka mr.fraggs Join Date: Nov 2004 Location: USA or Germany Posts: 2,965 OS: Win XP,Vista,Android My System	there is no virus in the transformation pack as i use it myself and have scanned it accesively. i am not sure where you may have downloaded it from i did from cnet and it was clean. the sidebar is the right clear bar that comes with the pack usually containing a clock and a note pad calendar like thing. this starts through the registry there for the registry pop up. there should be an option "always allow". the sending bites and recieving them is usual for any computer hooked up via an ethernet cable and having an always on connection or being hooked up to a router. this is just some information i know and should be regarded but it still might help to get your HJT log examined by a professional best regards __________________ I don't subscribe to threads please PM me if i miss a reply. ------- Everest SensorView Pro DriverCleaner how to fix your game

parry Registered User Join Date: Jan 2007 Posts: 62 OS: XP Pro \| Vista	thanx Fr4665, 1) I downloaded the pack from Download.com 2) The sending & receiving small packets is normal but it was continuously receiving data as if downloading some files. 3) Is running of sidebar script into suspicion by McAfee normal?
