SpyBot Search & Destroy socket error 10060
Recently I have had problems updating SpyBot Search & Destroy. Every time I go to update I receive this Socket error 10060. I did uninstall SpyBot and reinstalled SpyBot. I was then able to update one time after that. I went to update today for the 2nd time and the socket error 10060 showed up again. When I went in to change the server I was not able to it since it said no server selected. I don't know how to get in to list other servers. Any suggestions to this annoying problem?
Thanks! Last edited by sierra1953; 10-28-2006 at 12:45 PM. |

Do you use a proxy you route your internet connection through? If you do, you will need to tell Spybot to use the proxy (change the display mode to Advanced Mode by selecting it from the Mode menu above, then go through Settings -> Settings -> Automation, Web Update, Use proxy to connect to web server). If you are unsure of your proxy settings, you can find them in the connection settings of your web browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, etc).
If you are using a Personal Firewall on your computer, you may also need to have Spybot properly authorized to access the Internet. |
