Firewall issue
Hi,
I have a problem. Every now and again my IP address will change and I will get the 2 computer icons at the bottom of the taskbar with a question mark on it saying that my computer has little or no connection. The thing is when I open my firewall's main screen I notice that my IP address has changed and this is the reason I can't connect. I have to restart the computer and then my IP address resets in the firewall and I have access to the web. I am using Comodo as my firewall and I am running XP. Anyone know what is causing this problem. Thanks Mike |

Hi Focus.
Are you using a router? Comcast issue dynamic IP addresses, but this shouldn't cause an issue. When you go to Start > Settings > Network Connections how many connections do you have?

Hi Focus
So is your IP address changing to a 192.168.X.X address? If so, check your router and make sure it's only issuing a static address. Perhaps you can ask for assistance in the networking forum, unless you feel you computer has an infection.
