Startup Mechanic problem
I downloaded the later version of the Startup Mechanic (2.8 I believe), and as I was trying to install it, it told me that it needed to download a file called mscomctl.ocx. I told it to go ahead and download it, and it appeared to do so. Unfortunately, when I try to run the program it says that that file (or one of its dependencies) is not correctly registered because a file is missing or invalid. Anyone know how I can fix this? If no one knows a way to fix this, does anyone have a good substitution for the Startup Mechanic (a program that I can use instead)?
Thanks in advance for any help! |

This problem happens when you have a virus or spyware protection wich wont allowe it to download one or more files. I had a client that had a program call bearshare it would not work till I disable his onguard protection. take your protection off to install the software but i dont recomend you do that it up to you. I would just find a diffrent program.

You need to put the MSCOMCTL.OCX file in C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32
Then go to Start > Run and type REGSVR32 MSCOMCTL.OCX
