Pin Buying protection?

I was thinking if i was going to buy protection for my computer instead of having a ton of other programs, would spyware doctor, ewido antimalware, adaware, norton av 06, and zonealarm pro? Would all of these be good (note i am willing to buy the full version of these products) Any questions, comments, or concerns are welcome.

I use Free versions of AVG, ZoneAlarm,Ad-Aware,SywareGuard,SpywareBlaster,Windows Defender,ewido.a-squared,Spybot S &D,MRUBlaster and AntiVir Personal and had no problems in well over a year
Norton and Spyware Doctor don't play well with other programs inmy opinion.

I would buy ZoneAlarm Pro and Norton AV. Then I would use Ad-Aware SE Personal (Free) and spybot Search & Destroy 1.4 (With TeaTimer enabled)(FREE) as your AntiSpyware.

I use F-Secure Internet Security. I haven't had any problems with viruses, Malware, Spyware, Spam or anything of the sort.

Okay,

The only realtime protection that you really need is in Anti-Virus. There is no darling anti-virus program out of the ones that I have tested and researched as of yet. Best one so Far is McAfee's VirusScan.

I think a manually activiated anti-spyware program that you can simply set to run once or twice a week is much better than a real-time program as it constantly uses your system resources and isn't so necessary as anti-virus. XoftSpySE is a very small and lightweight program that just does the necessities and is just as effective as any other anti-spyware.

The third and final security product that you should use (I'm assuming you have a firewall already with your operating system) is a registry cleaner. It prevents/removes registry errors automatically making sure windows runs as it should and doesn't freeze and pop up error messages. Best Registry cleaner program I have found so far is a relatively new one called RegCure.

I'm just giving you the facts that I have found by trial and error and I definately don't want to come off as an advertiser here so if you want to find out about prices and features of these three products go to www.pcperformancetools.com. That is all.

Cheers,

These topics have been discussed here before.

For a discussion on the best free AV and Firewall see here:
What are the best free antivirus and firewalls?

For a discussion on the best paid AV and Firewall see here:
What are the best paid Antivirus and Firewalls?

Just a personal observation, of the new malware samples we collect and scan Norton and McAffee detect very few. Nod32, Kaspersky and F-Secure probably have the highest detection rates. McAffee is very good at adding new definitions as soon as the malware is submitted however.

Many of the Security Team are also not fond of Registry Cleaners. They are extremely dangerous for the little benefit they provide. The risk of removing required registry entries is too high for them to be worth it.

The best 'professional' antivirus products are NOD32, Kaspersky, or BitDefender. Norton, although good in detection rates it is poorly designed because of resource consumption, installing/uninstalling issues, conflicts, and other problems. The best 'professional' antispyware products are Spy Sweeper or CounterSpy. Zone Alarm is an excellent firewall, but you should use the free trial first, because if you suffer from conflicts or problems, it would be better to find out before rather than after.

For information about which antivirus product is better, go to www.AV-Comparatives.org.
