Help me!Virus trouble(urgent)
A few weeks ago i left my laptop on overnight and when i awoke my screen was covered in pop-ups from internet explorer(despite the fact that i use firefox). I've come to the conclusion that i had accidently downloaded a spyware file(or files to be exact). Using Spybot i was able to rid myself of my spyware problem. I searched through my c drive and was able to delete any potentially dangerous files aside from one. The file is an excutable called Numbsoft. Another spyware file known as newdotnet was causing me trouble, but i was finally able to get rid of it. Unfortunately Numbsoft is still there and my laptop is still on the fritz. Spyware/ adware pop-ups are still appearing even with pop-up blocker and now i can't even see my desktop! In order to do anything i must pres ctrl+alt+del in order to access my tasklist and use any programs. Honestly i have no idea of what to do at this point and would appreciate any help as quickly as possible.

Hello Lazyjoker:
Please read this thread Please download HijackThis . This program will help us determine if there are any spyware/malware on your computer. Double-click on the file you just downloaded. Click on the "Unzip" button to install. It will by default install to the directory - C:\PROGRAM FILES\HIJACKTHIS\ Run a scan and save the log file. Do not fix anything in HijackThis since they may be harmless. Make sure to include the System information at the top of the log as well. Post your HJT log in this Forum and an analyst will help you. |
