Latest cyberbug targets users cash
If you buy soap, reserve hotel rooms or pay bills on the Internet, your money could be the latest target in the cyberspace war between computer programmers and hackers.
A Reno-based Internet security consultant warns of a computer bug from Russia that's resulted in the electronic theft of millions of dollars. "They use a virus attack to steal money," said Ira Victor, an executive with Data Clone Labs. "They are professional cybermonsters." The bug, created by a hacker group known as the Russian Business Network, is contained in PDF (portable document format) files that often arrive in computers attached to spam e-mail. http://news.rgj.com/apps/pbcs.dll/ar...WS01/711060339
