DDoS knocks anti-spam sites offline
Several anti-spam organisations have been targeted by an attempt to knock them offline, according to the SANS Institute.
SANS' Internet Storm Center (ISC) said a "pretty big" distributed denial of service (DDoS) offensive had targeted several high-profile organisations, including Spamhaus, SURBL (Spam URI Realtime Blocklists) and URIBL (Realtime URI Blacklist). http://www.techworld.com/security/ne...SS&NewsID=9110

Re: DDoS knocks anti-spam sites offline
Hackers/hijacker are actually trying to knock off anything crediting, spreading and supporting such sites - so keep alarmed by any new members registering and then sending PMs without any or just one "offline" post. Especially those sites against P2P, don't know why exactly but they seem to really hate them in general. Probably because they miss all the easy targets that way.
![]() Two other smaller security protection sites have been attacked recently, one is down since then and used to analyze firewalls since 2002. |
