Phili signs Michael Vick
Ok, first off I will state my affiliation. Dallas Cowboys fan since '76 (I was 6 and this was the first time I remember watching football).
The Eagles have signed Vick along with his baggage. I know there are a lot of Pennsylvanians on this site and would like to hear your take on it. I can see him acting as another version of Westbrook, but he is not going to usurp Mcnabb (barring injury). I am interested to see where this guy fits in really. I hope this thread doesn't degenerate into a cowboys v eagles thing. We have both been good consistently and been beating the crap out of each other at different times forever. Nothing but respect for the Eagles org.

Re: Phili signs Michael Vick
I'm an eagles fan - my whole family is. I'm not obsessed with the NFL though. More of a college kinda guy. Anyways - I'm very surprised to hear this. I would think the eagles would be the last team to ever sign Mike Vick.
I'm not sure where he would fit in.. we have westbrook at running back - McNabb at QB. Of course both of them are prone to injury - I'm not sure Vick is a quality backup. He's been out of the loop for sometime now. I'm interested though and will definitely be keeping a close eye on this. |

Re: Phili signs Michael Vick
I see him coming in on third down and 6 and mostly to run the spread offense. I also think the signing has as much to do with someone else not getting him as it does with Philly getting him.
If I were the owner, I don't know if I'd want to wade through the inevitable humane society pickets every game - I see one reading: Mr. Lourie - $1.5 million could save 100,000 pets from abuse

Re: Phili signs Michael Vick
It supprised me but probably should not have . . I saw a interview with Reid last week and the way he avoided the question bout Vick should have been a signal . . Reid is such a class act that he is one of the very few that can handle the situation. Apparently, Donovan had to be onboard with it before Andy would pull the trigger.
It's gonna be interesting!!

Re: Phili signs Michael Vick
he served his time, let him play. Looking forward to seeing some interesting trick plays using Vic. It was always exciting to see what Randall El would do when he was on the field for the steelers, of course now he's faded into the stock playing for the Redskins.

Re: Phili signs Michael Vick
Cometo think of it, Phily really is a good fit . . the fans boo Santa Clause and the God Bless America singing, they cheer when opposing players are injured . . they have the only on site Judge to try lawbreakers . . what's a little innocent dog fighting to that crowd??

If he'd gone to Oakland, they would have set up a dog fighting arena under the stands. Or featured them as halftime entertainment. Philly ain't got nut'n on them.

Re: Phili signs Michael Vick
My fantasy football team in the TSF league is named The Torn ACLs.
We're kind of like the Raiders - one season of glory years ago then the cellar ever more. That’s going to change this year though. Our goal is to leave our old ways behind and progress all the way to mediocrity.

Re: Phili signs Michael Vick
I C . . that was the only meaning for ACL's I could think of, but never thought of it as a team name . . cool!
