Confederations Cup
The United States beat Egypt 3-0
Brazil beat Italy 3-0. Brazil gets 9 pts for the group. All others get 2. The tiebreaker is goal differential. Egypt (lost to Brazil 3-4, beat Italy 1-0, lost to USA 0-3) had a -3. Italy (beat USA by 2, lost to Egypt by 1, lost to Brazil by 3) had a -2. USA (lost to Italy 1-3, lost to Brazil 0-3, beat Egypt 3-0) had a -2. The next tie breaker for Italy and USA is goals scored. Italy scored 3, USA scored 4. So against all odds, the USA moves to the semi final where they will play world #1 Spain. I fully expect to lose this one to the Spaniards. Torres and Villa are pretty awesome.

Howard was the man of the match. The second goal was sloppy, but Altidore totally outmaned his defender.
Now I have something to watch on TV on Monday.
