Chiefs Acquire Cassel and Vrabel From Pats for Second-Round Pick

The Patriots traded QB Matt Cassel, who thrived as their starter this past season filling in for the injured Tom Brady, to the Chiefs.

New England sent Cassel and veteran LB Mike Vrabel to Kansas City for the Chiefs' second-round selection, 34th overall, in the NFL draft in April, the teams announced.

The trade is contingent upon Cassel and Vrabel passing physicals, according to the Chiefs.

Cassel did not suprise me . . his value as a result of last years performance just was too much not to capture . . same for Rosenfelids in Houston. Vrabel was a suprise. Wonder what the Pats will do for a backup?
