Winning Coach In 100-0 B-Ball Game Fired
The coach of a Texas high school basketball team that beat another team 100-0 was fired Sunday, the same day he sent an e-mail to a newspaper stating he will not apologize "for a wide-margin victory when my girls played with honor and integrity" and posted a detailed explanation on a hoops Web site.
http://cbs11tv.com/sports/micah.grim....2.917557.html Should he have let the other team score? Should he apologize?

Re: Winning Coach In 100-0 B-Ball Game Fired
Should a "Jerk" apologize? I don't think it would make him any less a jerk since the team kept making 3 point shots and some coaches under his "lack of guidance" kept cheering and urging them on to post a high score.
No, he should not apologize, that won't make him any less of a jerk! Someone else needs to coach these kids, because this guy is obviously not qualified to work with kids. He should have let his "subs" play leisurely after it became very obvious in the first quarter that this team was no match for his team. Didn't I even read someplace that he put on a full court press for the first quarter?

it's just a game, no need for all the emotions.
I think we all just need to take a page from Bud Gillet and buy a big hat.

Re: Winning Coach In 100-0 B-Ball Game Fired
This guy should be strung up. I coach my twins' soccer team and when we are up by 4 goals, I pull the best kids, let defenders play offense and put a crappy kid in goal. Now, let's say I am down 0-4 in the first quarter and they keep pouring it on...... I guarantee my son would take out their best player to teach the coach a lesson he should have learned long ago.
On the flip side, last spring, we were getting killed 0-8 at halftime. The other coach asked if instead of playing 8 on 8, if I wanted to, I could play 10 on 8. I declined, because the kids needed to learn to never give up or give in.
