Re: Super Bowl

one Manning beat the pats last year, another will win this year.
just kidding Joe, the giants will need some help, turnovers, injuries, missed calls, bad penalties.....but you never know.

Re: Super Bowl

I would much rather see the Giants win, but they would need to be on top of their game, all game, and the Patriots would need to be having a horrible game.

They played the best i've seen them against the Packers on Sunday and barely scraped by. They simply don't have what it takes to win.

Re: Super Bowl

Chevy won't like this but I think the last couple of weeks have taken the shin off the Pats. That said, as much as that pains me to say it, I'm picking the Pats . Mostly because I think the AFC is much much better than the NFC. Manning's not screwing up and losing games. But that's a backhanded compliment at best. If it boils down to QB's, and it usually does, Brady is head and shoulders above Eli.

Patriots: 26 -17 (but it's 26-10 well into the 4th qtr.) in a boring game.

Re: Super Bowl

I think that Peyton's "lil" brother will come though and Brady will have a less than stellar game.

Re: Super Bowl

the thing about the pats, and being in ny naturally i want the giants, is that the pats seem to have strong second halves. if a team gets a 10 or 14 point lead going into the third quarter, it appears as if they are dumb founded, and then just try and hold on, and not play to lose.. as opposed to playing to win. 3 and out....and then their defense gets tired.

Re: Super Bowl

Which worries you more, the prospect of Manning and Coughlin winning one superbowl or the prospect of Bilicheck and Brady winning their fourth. There's just something about perfection the gets under your skin.

seriously, I have no interest in the super bowl this year. I am not even sure when it is. I guess I am getting old. However for the sake of record breaking, I would like to see the pats win with their perfect season intact.

Re: Super Bowl

I don't understand this "last few weeks has taken the shine off" opinion in the media.

The Pats have proven they can win passing, defense, or running the ball.

I think the Giants are focusing on one fact .... 9:13 ... That's how much time was on the clock when the Pats got the ball back when they last met, and it's how much time the Pats were able to run off the clock during that last drive.

9 minutes and 13 seconds. The Giants had 2 times-out as well as the 2 minute warning, but they couldn't stop the Pats.

Re: Super Bowl

It's one thing to put your money on NY, but criticizing thing that don't exist or have not been big enough problems to cause even one loss is meaningless.

Re: Super Bowl

The shine of which I refer is the "The Pat are the best team ever to play the game" talk. Now if they had cruised though the post season like they did the regular season the glow would be so bright you'd need shades just to see them. Instead they pulled out 4 tough games but were far from dominant. So credit where credit is due: great team, great season. And if they win tomorrow maybe they are indeed the best ever.

BTW: I did pick them to win.

Re: Super Bowl

Wow, I knew +12 points was BS figure, but the Giants really made the Pats look like any given team. They deserved it the way they played tonight.

Re: Super Bowl

Bah....

Great game, New York... Great way to end a season. You guys earned it, for sure.

Enjoy it, Giant's fans. Must be an amazing feeling.

Thanks for a great season, New England. We'll see you next year.

Until then, Go Celtics!

Re: Super Bowl

The problem with the pats is, they peaked too early in the season. Their best play was in the middle of the regular season and didn't shine too much in the last few games and the playoffs. Brady had a really horrid game and New England's D wasn't up to the task... 80 yds in 2 min for a TD and you supposedly had the 4th ranked D? Some of Brady's throws made me wonder if a rookie had taken his spot... Like that one on the 7 where he overthrew Moss to the left. Yes, he scored a couple plays later, but what was up with that pass?

Oh well, just a game...
