BCS open to mini-playoff system

If the Bowl Championship Series were to adopt a mini-playoff format, it wouldn't happen until at least the 2010 college football season.

No, what you mean is the 2nd (maybe 3rd) best team in the nation wouldn't have to wait 7+ weeks to play. They just weren't up to that South Eastern Conference "D" that we heard so much about before the championship. Some say Ohio State's offense was off their game and they sure were because of that big gator "D."

Anyhow, off topic, so I wish they would institute a true playoff system and not wait so long to do it.

PS: Bry, don't forget to display those scores like you have all year!

If Ginn didn't get hurt.........

I wanted to take the scores down weeks ago, but figured I'd jinx it. After the loss to Penn State last year, my brother's pre-game ritual was to eat a large sausage/peperoni/hot pepper pizza before every game.

Yes, a playoff system would be nice. Everyone wants it so why don't they just do it?

Bry the Big Ten is to blame for hurting there own teams. Michigan fell in the rankings because they didn't play another game while the rest of the nations did. Ohio St. struggled from the long layoff. Even Wisconsin seemed to struggle from their extended layoff but it didn't stop them from beating the SEC again in their second straight bowl game.

Face it, the Big10 just wasn't very good this year. Their # 1 & #2 lost by a combined score of 73 - 32 and both USC and Florida cruised through the second half. Wisconsin only won by 3 & Penn S by 10.

Hi,

The moral of this story is that those who have easier schedules will pay the price at the championship series. Ohio State's schedule did not match the schedule of the Gators....... The SEC is definitely the toughest conference in the country.

I saw how GInn got hurt. After his TD, receiver Roy Hall slipped under Ginn and rolled his ankle.

It is 28 degress right now, let's play the game in front of 102,000 fans. The SEC is way over rated.

But irregardless, a playoff is needed. If we had a playoff, UF and OSU would have met and probably with the same results, but we need a playoff, The universites are the only ones blocking this and they could make lots more money. The higher seeds could get 2 or 3 more home games. I read where Central Ohio makes about $5,000,000 per home game. Hello?
