A top Indian woman athlete who won a silver medal at a recent regional championship has failed a gender test, officials say.

whats the point of a gender test ? if u have a male organ in the area of u know what then ur a male and if not ur a femal. i dont think such a test is even realisticly necesary ....

what if that athlete doesn t have that organ because of an untold surgery , it s good to do the test to know who is who .

The test mentioned is most likely a Barr-body test (cellular level), which is, in rare cases, inaccurate. Although this doesn't explain how he/she/it passed the first test.

if they failed that, they only have to look in one place or the birth cirtificate

There are certain...conditions that might preempt a birth certificate's accuracy.

I'm sure it has more to do with hormone levels than the presense of particular body parts - or the lack of same.

So would the Governator call him a Girlyman or a Manlygirl?

or of a manly girl .... but even if the particular body part was removed due to surgery, this should be noted in some papers.

Reminds me of a joke:

A guy decides to take a week off and being an avid golfer, decides to play every day. On his first day the starter pairs him up with a beautiful lady. As they begin to play the round – golf is a betting game after all and the guy is highly competitive – they set a small wager. All goes well. They are really hitting it off. On the 16th hole she invites him over to her place for a drink after the round. He gladly accepts and looks forward to a night of bliss. On the last hole she sinks a long putt to win by a stroke. He says, stammering even more, you mean all this week you’ve…you’ve …..you’ve hit from the ladies tees!!!
