NFL, Cable Dispute May Limit Audience
The National Football League probably won't resolve its pricing disputes with three of the biggest U.S. cable carriers in time to have the first live game on its network seen by most cable customers in New York and Los Angeles, a network spokesman said.

I have cable so I couldn't watch the Broncos game. It stinks that I'll be missing a couple of games every year but I think cable is doing the right thing. If the NFL won't allow there channel to be in an extra cost sports package than their channel won't be carried. Cable companies don't want to charge extra fees to all their costumers just for a couple of days out of the year for a small portion of people.
If I want to see a certain game I'll have to go to someone who has satellite or to a sports bar.

I think it s the other way around , NFL network is free ,but cable companies want to sell it through their sport packages . NFL network is not happy about the greedy cable companies in west ? It s free in East with comcast . I am pretty sure thats what happening now . Quote:

It looks like there are different things going on for different cable companies.
Money, of course, is the reason the NFL Network is battling with Time Warner Cable and Cablevision, another major cable provider. According to one report, the three-year-old NFL Network wants to be put on basic cable tiers at $0.70 per subscriber a month. Another report pegs it at $0.80 per subscriber. Time Warner and Cablevision are prepared to offer something around $0.25 a subscription. The sides are stalemated. The NFL is suing another cable operator, Comcast, because Comcast plans to move the NFL Network to a sports tier next year. The NFL claims that's a violation of the contract it has with Comcast. I'll try to find out what other cable channels are getting from Time Warner to see if the 25 cents is low balling the NfL Network. http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=534574

The Pack does play the Vikings but...
viewers in Green Bay and Milwaukee will be able to see the game, because league television policy applies to the NFL Network just as it always has for NFL games on ESPN. All NFL games on cable television must be made available to over-the-air stations in the markets of the competing teams. Both Milwaukee and Green Bay are considered the home markets of the Packers. So it's a good thing I live in the Milwaukee market. I won't miss the game but thanks for your kind gesture.

NEWARK, N.J. -- Rutgers football fans hoping to watch their team in the Texas Bowl later this month may be better off going to Manhattan -- the one in Kansas, that is.
The hometown of bowl opponent Kansas State is likely to have better coverage since the NFL Network, which has exclusive rights to televise the game, is not carried on two cable companies that serve more than 1 million of New Jersey's 2.5 million cable subscribers, not to mention most of New York City. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/bowls0...ory?id=2689097

They're all welcome to come to the yustr household. I get it on Comcast.
BTW: last night's Pittsburgh game was broadcast in standard def. After watching only hi-def its really shocking how much worse std-def is. If you don't have a HD set - add it to your Christmas list - you won't be sorry.
