Yankees pitcher dies as plane hits NYC building

NEW YORK - A small plane with New York Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle aboard crashed into a 50-story condominium tower Wednesday on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, killing two people and raining flaming debris on sidewalks, authorities said. Yankees’ owner George M. Steinbrenner confirmed Lidle was one of the two dead.

first i heard that the guy flying was a student with a flight instructor and they had fuel trouble

then i heard that the pilot had a medical simpton

then i hear now that the ny pitcher died ... (was he the flight student ???)

so whats the real deal now ?

I heard he was flying. They hit the building, the enigne stuck, the rest slid down; their bodies were found on the ground. I also heard thast the plane was an expensive sirrus (sp?) that had a lot of safety features on it. Kind of a rich guy's plane. It almost had to be pilot error. But if it was, how do you hit a building?

according to some eye witnesses the plan was wobbeling and there also was a mayday call. i watched it on cnn again and in the pitches contract it actually said that he wasnt allowed todo such 'extreme sports' i duno why flying counts as a sport but what ever.
