Buying MLB jerseys

Hi,
I was wondering how mlb jersey sizing works in contrast to normal t-shirt sizing. I live in western Canada, and baseball isn't very popular to say the least so I am unable to physically try on or buy a jersey, so I've decided to try my luck on ebay. I'm only 5'7", but I fit more comfortably in a large t-shirt than a medium, but still, I don't want the logo of my team at my stomach.

Anyways, do you guys have any tips on how mlb jersey sizing goes?
