(Football/Soccer) First weekend of the Championship

This is football (real football with the feet). Second level in England. Packed out with major clubs, many of whom have been top flihgt lmore htan half of the Premiership.

Well, I'm happy. I'm a Coventry City fan and I've just seen us beat Sunderland on Sky Sports. The Championship looks to be more competetive than the Premiership with half the teams capable of promotion and half in fear of relegation. Some both.

West Brom, Leeds and Brum also won, so the expected ones have got off to a good start. Barnsley, Colchester and Hull lost, so that's an indicator. First weekend - see what happens next!

Who are most promsing to get promoted? I thought there were a few that were all but assured of promotion.

Only three get promoted and nobody is assured. Sunderland, Coventry, Leicester, Leeds, Southampton, Crystal Palace, West Brom and Brimingham will all want to be up there.

I love the idea of promotion/relegation. Imagine if the NBA had something similar - think of all the millionairs just going through the motions on perennial cellar dwellers (Clippers, Warriors, Knicks, etc.) who might not get the big bucks next year.
