Democrat Or Republican?

So, Which Are You?

I Myself am a democrat, standing for a lot of what they do, but in the past year or two, the democrats have been getting too far to the left, and the republican's are too far to the right. I Would Go Indep, or such, but we all know those parties are just people who weren't nominated on the republican or democratic ticket. I think it's high time for a party realignment, for them both to shift back to the center, but I don't know if it's just me, or what?

I try to avoid labeling myself as of one party or the other. It can be restricting sometimes, and kind of keeps you from allowing some flexibility in your beliefs.

I agree with DD.It's too easy to shut out someone's beliefs because they say they're with so and so.

I don't live in the states, but if I did I'd probably vote Democrat as currently Bush is the leader of the Democrats, and he's an idiot.

I agree with lonewolf and DD. To many far left and far right people. That and I hate labeling my self with certain views that each party puts up.

I am a proud card carrying, donating, voluntering, member of the Republican party. (It says so in my title). My father was a republican.

Party affiliation doesn't have to mean that you have to adhere to the entire platform. Sure I am pro life and for the death penalty, but I am for tougher gun laws, go figure.

I tend to vote Democratic but there are times (like now) when I've got more of a "throw the bastards out" mentality. And unlike my buddy Bry, I'm not proud of the Demo's. I think that, for the most part, on a national level, they've allowed the Republicans to control the debate and are rather spineless. They've also allowed Liberal to become a derogatory term on the order of Fascists or Marxist. And this all happened without a fight from the Demo's.

But when you get down to the brass tacks - both parties have one overarching philosophy: get reelected! Until we break the cycle of reelecting 95% of incumbents, self-promotion will be the name of the game.

I used to consider my self a Republican however Bush v2.0 has changed all that.
I think it will take many years of having a left leaning government to repair the damage the idiots in charge have done.

Moderate civil libertarian.

Far leftist governments are inefficient and weak, while today's leading conservatives are bigoted and impede on the rights of citizens.

Government serves the people, not the other way around. I'm not willing to trade my rights for some "security".

it's not that I am affilliated with any party...I am an American, I pay these people and they should listen to the people and do as their employers say...you and me!!

I'm with you..there is no way to tell what these people that we put in power will do...we vote for them and put them in office and then they bow to the lobbyists and we continue to lavish them like kings."they live like kings you know"and we pay the bill.it't high time we tell these money hungry lying people that we are not going to put up with this anymore...but that would take balls and I think American's don't care as long as it's not affecting them right now, but what we don't see is that it is only going to get worse if we don't do something soon to these money stealing people that we put in power.
