Idealogically, I'd have to make up my own political party. But I'm registered Inependent. I can't ***** if I don't vote, I suppose.

I am to the Right on cultural and social issues, but I lean to the democrats on some economic and policy issues. So what does that make me? I guess I am more of a constitutional Libertarian more than anything else.
As for Boosh, I think he is a dim-witted, egotistical, war-mongering liberal. He is clinically certifiable as an obsessive-compulsive paranoid. He is OBSESSED with iraq like captain Ahab and the great white whale. |

I'm an American.We need to get rid of all labels and vote for what is right and remember that this is supposed to be a "free country".Free for all Americans.
This country is ran by lobbists,big business,and corrupt politicians.We need to take our country back and stop the "you against us" crap.We are all Americans. The Declaration of Independence - "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness. Not an American, but of the big two I'd definitely say Democrat. Mind you, if I was an American observing British politics I'd probably say I'd support Labour, when in reality I don't. I consider myself to be a democratic socialist, so when I eventually vote (I'm not 18 till August) it will be a tough decision whether to vote for a party that does represent my views, or vote Labour to keep the Tories out.
Just a question out of interest, what does registered Democrat/Republican etc mean? Does it mean you are a member of that party? Last edited by cadge; 06-09-2007 at 01:46 PM. |

We register either democrat, republican or independent, green, libertarian etc.... It doesn't necessarily mean you're a memeber of that party; persons may identify with a particular party or ethic, but largely, it's required to pick one when registering to vote. In a sense it works as a "survey" or "party headcount" to have some idea of who to appeal to if you are a political candidate. If, for example, Presidential Hopeful Hillary (a democrat) wants to appeal to the republicans in any particular way, she can choose where to give her speeches based on voter demographics.

I'm registered as a Democrat, but that's only so I can vote in my state's primary elections. I have never in my life voted a straight party line and I doubt I ever will.

I don't have an affiliation. I think that if you're affiliated with a party too much, then you're blinded by party lines. I think it's best to sit back and choose your positions on issues based on facts and opinion instead of party lines.

Unfortuntely the American politicians and people are blinded by our own greed...we can't see the enemy when it's right in our faces. The war in Iraq is just an example of our ignorance about fighting terrorist. Because of our greed this Administration can not see clearly. As a super-power we should be using our resources and technology in a more effecient manner, they are using the technology we taught them against us...go figure. We are pretty much a laughing stock of the International Community. If it wasn't for our brute strength we would be doomed. We also believe our own governemts propaganda (Bull Crap). Living in American is like a reality T.V. show on steroids. I still have faith that things will turn around for better. Just thought I would throw that out there....

I can't vote for rich politicians, democrat or republican. I'm much further left and more liberal than the democratic party line so I don't identify with either. Usually when I vote, I vote for a third party. Usually people tell me I'm wasting my vote. I don't believe that's the case. Without ANY votes, third parties get no funding, or support. The two party system (which even our founding fathers warned against) is eating a hole in a country whose system is flawed and in need of revision in the first place. No person who truly understands the needs of the average American or even the average HUMAN could win an election of importance in this country since it's constructed to be run be wealthy socialites and elitists. There is too much hate, racism, sexism and bigotry in the world to allow people who are out of touch with humanity run something that could be so much more. It's really unfortunate. I urge everyone from all sides to continue with political discussions, as that is one of the things that could help us take steps forward.

then,bye bye!!! Teddy Kennedy is a fine example of too little,too long. It would be nice to have a whole new group of leaders every six years.

I'm a socialist. The electoral system is stuffed. You get the choice between two candidates, or three, in most countries and they all don't represent you. They're representing the elite minority of the rich and powerful.
