You may not have noticed, but there is a house cleaning going on in the CIA. That's why Tenet was replaced. There's also a house cleaning going on in the State Dept. That's why Rice is in the Secretary's job. The entrenched people in each operation aren't happy at all about it.

OMG I hardly think Colin Powel was replaced !!!! ROFL

if you remember correctly Colin Powell had the quote for GW IRAQ has the pottery barn policy / if you break it ~~~ you must buy it !! I dont think that was his way of saying lets go topple Sadam !!

Rice is the quint essential "Yes" man she is by NO means any Madaline Albright by a damn long shot !!! another classic example of filling key cabinet positions with buddy's instead of the best canidate for the job / same went for the former Homeland security man / Tom Ridge Tom Ridge had no background whatso ever for that position >>> no intelligence, no military experience, no law enforcement experience just another buddy that campaigned hard for GW while he was govenor of pennsylvania and lost his own re-election!!! same old buddy needs a job >>>> kind of sounds like the previous supreme court nomination ?????

If you will do your research, I think you will find that Colin Powell wanted to stay another few months and was told "NO". Now, I am not defending if that was a correct postion for GW to take or not, because I though Powell was O.K., but the facts do bear out that he was shown the door earlier than he had planned. House cleaning, I don't know, but the facts are as stated if you check.

Here again, those were his words, however, given the faulty intelligence that he also received, he was O.K. with the action that was taken in view of the CIA determination that there were WMD's. His decision to take military action was reluctant until he thought that WMD's were there because of the CIA intelligence. . He did support the action in view of the CIA assurance that they were there. Do I think he would support that action without the CIA reports, No, I don't, but he got the same reports as the President did. Clinton also supported that action when given the same CIA reports.

First of all, she is not a "yes" man by any means and is more intelligent that five Madaline Albrights. Finally we have someone in there who has the guts to stand up and state our case without shaking in their boots.

You are correct linderman, she is not the kissy butty Madaline Albright, and I thank the Good Lord for that. (Madaiine Albright and her buddy Janet Reno were two of a kind................... worthless political hacks)

Remember, your Madeline was the one who thought Clinton did just the right thing in Afghanistan when good old Bill put a bomb in the middle of a tent and killed two goats to warn Afghanistan that we meant business after Bin Laden engineered an attack that killed American Soldiers. That crew really meant business and was tough.

Her buddy, Janet Reno was the one who engineered the Elian Gonazales mess and the Branch Dividian Compound disaster, plus many other woman made disasters.

Life does go on!!!!

Liberals just don't get it about Iraq...Let me remind everyone that terrorist declared war on the United States by killing two thousand innocent hard working people. Tell me who we are facing in Iraq...Who are these people who drive up next to a church and kill themselves along with 6-10 other people, who are these people who blow up our buildings, they are terrorists! We are facing terrorists in Iraq. The same group of people responsible for 9-11. Yes I said it, the same group responsible for 9-11! What about Zarqawi? e is a self proclaimed al-quidea terrorist. We cannot leave Iraq. No matter how many lives or money it takes freedom will outlast tyranny ALWAYS! Don't fall into the terrorist trap of making you believe that this is similar to vietnam, no matter how hard the american media makes you want to believe this, you have to remember that terrorist attacked us and have declared a holy war. In vietnam we were not attacked like we were on 9-11. Don't back down and never forget!

Wink

Shotgun diplomacy is very dangerous business / I know of no war ever that was fought without the support of the majority of population / our presence is making terrorists / have you ever stopped to think why they people hate america enough to explode themselves / why arent the suicide bombing Canada, or China, or France or South America , why havent they attacked Mexico ????????

The cause of the terrorists actions is a direct response to the way our goverment sticks in nose in the affairs of other nations and not in a nice way either/ have you forgot about our former puppets like Marcos of the philipines or Noreiaga

I strongly believe this war will be no diff than vietnam although on a smaller scale / but dont fool yourself for one minute / the mass population of Iraq dont want us there / the same way we would fight any nation that invaded our country to plunder our resources / kill our leaders and political activists

please dont forget it was this country that propped Sadam into power to begin with / that was a coup that killed that former dictator / sadam just forget that he had strings attached to his little wooden body.

Liberals will compare Iraq. To Vietnam every chance they get. If they play out the same, the wll load their anti Bush guns with it.

Propping up governments is the job of the super powers. It's what Truman did in S. Korea and what KENNEDY did in Vietnam and Carter did in Afghanastan (I don't think they were Republicans). Someitmes you have to choose between the lesser of two evils.

Albright dropped the ball in North Korea. Kim Jung Il wanted nuclear rods to provide electrisity for his people. He now has nuclear weapons. Nobody in the world took her seriously. Who takes grandma seriously? She should have had a plate full of vookies, not a cabinet full of kooks.

I liked Reno, She had testicular fortitude. She invaded the davidians and gave Eilian to his rightful guardian. I agreed with her in both cases. I just wish her boss would have backed her up.

Madeline Albright was an excellent secretary of state / very intelligent yet very forthwright / other leaders new what she meant because she didnt beat around the bush and she had brains enought to resolve things / if you want some good reading sometime dig up some articles where other countries leaders give an opinion of her / I have never read one that thought she was shallow/ lack education / lack leadership etc i forget which interview I read ( i think it was japan on balance of trade talks) he said he would not want to play high stakes poker with Madeline Albright. Now to me thats a strong statement coming from a culture that does not place women on any equal footing with men!!

North Korea / I hope your kidding about their desire to make electricity !!! have you ever seen or read about their utility infrastructure ????? they dont have the means or capabilities to deliver electricity to a city the size of Dallas / I say in Times magazine when this whole story was "hot" it should a satalite photo of north korea and south korea at nite / south korea was lit up just like america / north korea looked liked someone forget to turn the lights on North Korea has finally begin to realize they have been left out in the sceme of things as a nation / while watching accross the DMZ at a nation that is thriving with a graowing national economy and happy people who are living a much "larger" standard of living

North Korea knows it can make big $$$$$$ billions in two ways / America buy them OUT of the nuclear business or sell atomic arms to the middle east >>>> still more big $$$$$ they want them big time / and forget about rocketry / islam aint into that / how about a dirty bomb in a shipping conmtainer headed for Calif / where only one in 6 containers get checked ???????

Now good old Slcik Willy promised them the World $$$$ to abandon the nuclear program >>>> had the peanut farmer (carter) help him bull$**** them into. But as usual ole slick didnt come thru witht he cash / so wouldnt you go on to plan "B"

Dont you remember about two years ago when North Korea got caught sending Sil Worm missles to Iran / whatever happened to that shipment?????
GW didnt stop it ?????

Kennedy did in Vietnam = Kennedy didnt have the testicular fortitude for the war in vietnam / if you remember history correctly Kennedy had signed the orders to pull out of vietnam because he got cold feet / one of the first things Johnson did upon taking over was to reverse those orders to begin the withdrawl !! i bet kennedy wasnt even stiff when Johnson signed the reversal order >>> kennedy was a damn joke >>> please dont forget the Bay of Pigs invasion >>> how would you have been those amphibious marines fighting on the beach as you watched the ships pull ancor and LEAVE because ole Johnny boy's feet got cold again !!!! and we as a nation wonder who kiled Kennedy ????? you ever see a Marine sniper shoot ??????

I guess we as a nation need a healthy constant mixing of the parties / the Dems do make sure the people arent walked over like the way big business did to the workers of this country in the 1930's / but you need the Rep's with leaders like Nixon >>(opened the doors to china) & Reagan who collapsed the soviet empire / but please >>>>>>> why cant these parties offer us MUCH more leadership & integrity, ,morals than Slick Willy & the OIl theif

thats all I ask / give us a leader that will restore dignity to the white house and give us a leader capable of leading a Super Power not make our country look like super plunderer

"our presence is making terrorists"

There was no presence before 9/11 so why did we deserve to get attacked.

"have you ever stopped to think why they people hate america enough to explode themselves / why arent the suicide bombing Canada, or China, or France or South America , why havent they attacked Mexico ????????"

Why are you worring about Canada, China, France, South America, and Mexico? We were attacked on 9/11 by terroists! Not Canada, China, ect.... We are fighting this war in self defense against terrorists and offering a hand to a nation that seeks friendship, freedom, and peace.

"Shotgun diplomacy is very dangerous business"

I agree. However, you can't bargain with bullies, tyrants or terrorists, and to even try is not only naive but potentially suicidal. Sometimes violence is the only means by which one can defend their liberties. Those who refuse to resort to violent acts under any circumstances are destined for slavery.

"the mass population of Iraq dont want us there"

How dare you say somthing that is so dangerously spculative. Have you been in Iraq have you asked any Iraqi's what they think? I have. And my firend, I will give you the god honest truth. The people that I saw in Iraq were very happy to see us there. They would wave to us and smile some even waving american flags. The children were even fasinated by my sungalsses (which i ended up giving them) These people want us their and are welcoming and friendly. The reason you think they don't want us there is because the American media only reports the car bomb each day and barely mentioned the constitution that was passed a few weekends ago. The people who don't want us there are the insurgents (terrorists). Please do not speculate over things like this, unless you know the facts. You put the cause that I have fought for in jeapordy.

**Did you know that more than 60% of the Iraqi's voted in this recent election? That is almost 10% more than what we get in our elections here!

I respect you as a member of the armed services if you are !! and I will always support our military in the battle for right or for wrong.

but my friend you are seriously wrong that we have been attacked for NO reason on 9/11

dont you ever ask yourself why so many terrorists are Saudi's ????? because the roy al family over there bleeds that country of all its riches / everything is for the good of the royal family and this nation does all their dirty work (blood work) for them / because they are too damn lazy and spoiled to do it for themselves!! and you never ask yourself / why do those terrorists hate us ???????

could I really get you to swallow that some dude just walked up and punched me in the face for no reason ????? I have never seen him before ?????? are you really that gullible ????? hell know / you would ask >>> stop bull shirting me >> what did you do to that fella ?????

well sir; our nation should be askign the same thing / we should b esaying wait a minute >>>> what has our foreign policy been doing that has these people hate us enough that they will live in caves like rats, spend every penny they can to blow themselves up and kill us in the process ?????

and I have many friends over in IRAQ and damn close friends that I pray for every nite that will come home safe / I live less than 100 miles from the 10th mountain division in Watertown NY >> i know alot of fellas that are serving in IRAQ and afganistan and they are the ones who tell me they wont even fight for themselves !!!!! so please dont tell me they believe in what we are doing for them / and as for elections and the turn out / sounds like the 2000 presidential election in florida to me >> where more voters turned out in precints then lived there

when you show me the majority of the population of IRAQ people fighting the terrorists as hard as the ordinary people of North Vietnam fought our nation then I will be a believer in this adminsistration / I have alwasy been a die hard believer in our miltary !! without question
but I am ready to defy an Admin who's secretray of defense (donald dumbsfeld) sits in front the national media in a smug way and says our military has to fight with the army we have / not the army we want that his answer to fighting a war with unarmored hum vees in other words >>> we will fight a war ~~ on the cheap ~~ what ever happened to the Bradley fighting vehicle and APC why are our troops moving and patroling in hum vees ?????

I have no problem with war ? i would serve my country in a second if called upon >> but please for the right reason. Why did we not make such an effort for Bosnian, somalia, el salvador, haiti ??????? didnt they want our democracy as much as the Iraq people ?????? or do they have no oil ???????

By your logic they've now killed 2000 more (some of who were your friends for which I am truely sorry). And we're being attacked dozens of times a day. I don't separate Americans and American soldiers - we are all Americans.

Next year they will have killed how many more?

Other than the 19 who died in the attacks how many of the 911 terrorists have we caught or killed? I'll remind you also that 14 of the 19 were Saudi's. Why weren't you fighting outside in Riyhad instead of Bagdad?

It now very clear that the decision to invade Iraq was made early and for reasons other than fighting terrorists. But don't ask me what those reasons are because Mr. Bush has not told us anything I can believe. Cause if a liar finally does tell the truth how do you know?

Lenin said that "a lie told often enough becomes truth". How sad that we're proving him right yet again.

Hi,

You know, i don't really know if he lied or not. Howver, from your statements, you are certain that he lied. You also seem certain the decision to invade Iraq was made early and for reasons other than fighting terrorists. I must assume since you are certain of both those things, that you have the facts to back up your statements because surely you would not just make this up.

Tell you what I would do if I were you. I would call your Senator and give him your facts so we can quickly get to the bottom of this and end all the liberal speculation about this issue. If you have those facts (that no one else does), then we could get on with the impeachment that democrats want so badly. Your verified information may save the country thousands of dollars in investigation since you are the only one who seems to know the facts. So, bring on the facts, not quotes from the liberal spin machine, but the Facts, nothing but the Facts that can be proven.

Yep, Lenin did say that, and we are proving it in this country right now. If the liberals and liberal spin machine says that BUSH lied enough, (without proof I would add) then that means he lied by your logic???????

Give me a break!!!

I can agree with you on some of the points that you have made. The Iraqi's need to start taking things over for themselves. When I was over there we had no Iraqi's fighting along our side the missions were Americans only. More Iraqi's should be trained and I believe that they are. Of course their should be more because this will be how Iraq protects itself in the future.

"Why did we not make such an effort for Bosnian, somalia, el salvador, haiti ??????? didnt they want our democracy as much as the Iraq people ?????? or do they have no oil ???????"

As a marine I am always fighting for our freedom no matter what anyone says. This war is not for oil because if it was then we would have all of the Iraqi oil here in the US and we wouldn't be spending so much on gas.

I disagree with anyone who says that we are not fighting in self-defense, and I am not going to change my opinion on that. From hearing everyone in this forum talk about why we shouldn't have gone into Iraq all I have to do to remind myself is what happned on September 11th 2001. I WILL NEVER FORGET! Before we get into this any further I respect your viewpoint on the war and after all this is America. I too am a firm believer in national defense and have spent my life gromwing up wtih two military parents, which has ultimatly encouraged me to join the military. I strongly disagree with you on this war but at least you have the knowlege to back up your argument. While being told things such as George Bush is and idiot is not even an opinion its an attack and shows that the particular person cannot make a sensible argument. From reading what you have to say all we have is a difference of opinion...neither one of us are wrong we just want things done in a different way. This is what makes american politicts so great this is how it is supposed to be.

I support George W. Bush 100%. I think that he has done a great job in protecting the American people at home (we have not been attacked here at home since 9/11). President Bush recognizes evil in the world and knows that if we do not confront it then we will find the world in a state like Hitler in WWII. Saddam Hussien was an evil tyrant who tortured, raped, and killed innocent people. He threatened the world with WMD's for many years. The world is better of today because he is not in power. President Bush also said that the War on Terror would not end in Afghanistan either he mentioned several countries Iraq included. The war on terror will likely go on for a very long time because terrorist are cowards who know that the United States is so damn afraid of killing a civilian. They will come in ambulances and jump out the back and blow themselves up. What cowards. They ignore the rules of engagement. Then they come to the US as prisoners and expect to get fed muslim food. Then they have liberals who argue for them and say that giving muslim prisoners american food is torture. So what do we do... we pay more money to give them islamic food. I must say this. If tying a battery cable to a male ******* then I only have one thing to say. Black is negative and red is positive.

God Bless our troops. and God Bless George W. Bush!

One thing is for sure / we have engaged for what ever reason a very determined foe / only an ignorant fool would engage the US military toe to toe in a "gentlemens" war.

Make no mistake our nation has engaged the most determined foe that we probally ever have. When a person is willing to give their life to execute their fight you cetainly have a "commitited" opponent. I dont believe the american people are anywhere near that committed to take on such a fight that will last what is going to feel like an eternity.

I listened to a lecture giving by a socialologist from the middle east / his take on the atmosphere and terrorism was very senseable / he stated that many generations will need to be passed before their people have had enough access to the "outside" world to see that most other nations lead a "better" standard of living / as such after enough education and open media has been applied then will they begin to modify their philosophies. but that is going to be some protracted engagement my friend.

Please explain to me again / why are we there ????? the was no evidence of a terrorism link BEFORE we invaded IRAQ and the Bush ADMIN was scrambling to demonstrate such a link after his weapons of Mass destruction was erroneous. We were told the was IREFUTABLE evidence (you remember them using that word ohh so much !!!!!!!!!!!!!)that IRAQ has weapons of mass destruction >>>> none where found we were told their was a definite connection to Alquida to IRAQ before we invaded >>>> never was that validified

How can we fight a war to success when the IRAQ forces drop their weapons and run at the least resistance ???????? Dont you ask why ??? Please they dont believe in what they are fighting for / but we are suppose to ????

I am very supportive of our military services that's WHY I dont want them used and bloodied for the WRONG reasons Protection of America you bet !! but that was Afganastan >>> with proof shown mind you

If you are going to fight in this damn war / fight for your brother standing & bleeding next to you and leave the brain washing classes to the perfumed princes better known as REMF

This country needs to learn that toppling other goverments has a price / and those soldiers are called terrorists !! imagine that !!

why didnt we call the NVA terrorists

We are there because Saddam Hussien is a terrorist. There is the most obvious link to terrorism/Iraq that anyone can find Saddam is a terrorist himself. It is historical fact the Saddam Hussien HAD weapons of mass destruction. He used them against his own people!! You know this is my theory on where they (WMD's) went. Because I don';t think that you can argue that they never existed. I think that in the lead up to the Iraq war we had so many damn liberal pacifists that they stalled our efforts. Saddam then realized he could get rid of them. I don't know what he did with them he could of destroyed them or could have passed them on to other terrorists which is scary and that is why we are on offense. Lets say that we THINK the weapons went intio Syria which is very possible. If we were getting ready to go invade/attack Syria, the liberals would say what do these guys (Syria) have to do with 9/11? This is a war on terror and we are going to fight terrorist no matter where they are. There are terrorists in Iraq, and there are probably terrorists in Syria too.

This country needs to learn that toppling other goverments has a price / and those soldiers are called terrorists !! imagine that !!

Are you suggesting that our Military forces are terrorists?

The IRA use terror. Are we going to invade Ireland? Why not? Oh, you say; they haven't used it against the US. Well guess what - neither did Saddam. Sudan was using terror on its own people. Did we invade? So saying it's a global a war on terror is BS. It’s a carefully chosen invasion and occupation of a geo-politically important country. Now if Bush came out and said, "I did it because it’s important to have a reliable base to operate out of in the event Israel is attacked…” or if his reason was “I think Iran is going to invade and I don’t want to see another radical country in the area…” maybe I could understand. But he keeps making up reasons as the previous ones get refuted. And therefore, all of his reasons are a deliberate misstatement of facts in an attempt to deceive = my definition of lies.

Please tell me in detail how the IRA uses terror. And I will tell you if they pose a threat to us here in the United States.

So saying it's a global a war on terror is BS.

This is a global war on terrorism that is why we are confronting it in Iraq.

It’s a carefully chosen invasion and occupation of a geo-politically important country. We are safer because of what George W. Bush has done. We are ridding the world of terrorist as he said he would do.

Ok here you are you are the President of the United States what do you do right now in Iraq? And what do you do to deal with other countries that support terror.

All liberals say the George W. Bush lied if you think this this is true then you must also think that these people are as accountable.

All of these members supported the war at the start so therefor these people need to be held accountable for lying. (your logic)

1) John Kerry
2) Harry Reid
3) Bill Clinton
4) Dick Durbin

But thats all right if a democrat said that because they were only quoating Bush and therefor are not responsible for thier own actions. Isn't that right. It is dangerous you put my fellow troopers at risk when you underminge this war effort!
