World Peace...to what extent you are involved in it? -A question to ponder upon...
World Peace...to what extent you are involved in it? -A question to ponder upon.....
World peace is a Utopian idea of planetary non-violence by which nations willingly cooperate, either voluntarily or by virtue of a system of governance which prevents warfare. The anti-world peace occurs due to the misconceptions among different nations. How are we playing our role to overcome this universal problem??? Think about it..and say something which proves to be worthy..or else this heavenly created world will become a havoc for all! |

Re: World Peace...to what extent you are involved in it? -A question to ponder upon..
Since you asked, I will tell you:
My wife & I are committee members of my town's Twinning Association. Some countries call it 'Sister Town' or 'International Friendship' On a visit to one of our 'sister towns' in Italy 4 years ago, we were taken 350 miles from our sister town in Northern Italy to Assisi. You may not know of the Christian connections but it is the home of St Francis of Assisi.... However, forget any Christian content for the time being... Some 12 - 14 years ago, the head of the Roman Catholic Church, The Pope, called all the heads and leaders of the World Nations to come to Assisi to peace conference and to pray for world peace. (All religions were invited) One of the outcomes of this meeting of World Leaders was the creation 'Knights of Peace' organisation. An award is made each year to any person, group or organisation who it is deemed contributed to world peace. When we arrived in Assisi, we were invited to one of the award ceremonies. The great surprise was that our town's Twinning Association was the recipient of the 'Knights of Peace' award. Only 3 weeks ago, we were presented with flag of the Knights of Peace. This is a photo of it being presented and received. I took the photo on 5th October 2009
