The latest outrage

President Barack Obama has only been in office for just over nine months, but he's already hit the links as much as President Bush did in over two years.

CBS' Mark Knoller — an unofficial documentarian and statistician of all things White House-related — wrote on his Twitter feed that, "Today - Obama ties Pres. Bush in the number of rounds of golf played in office: 24.

Took Bush 2 yrs & 10 months."

This news comes on the heels of today's news that Obama played golf with a woman — chief domestic policy adviser Melody Barnes — for the first time since taking office.

What is next, he went the bathroom more then Clinton? Those who are outraged by this should be thankful. It means less time he is working, which means the less trouble he is making for them.

More then likely the Dems where, yes. But they will come up with excuses of why it was different then. I say let him take the time off. Hopefully it will come back to bite him in just over 3 years. Maybe we can actually start getting people to look more seriously at a third party.

I think you would like http://www.fark.com/ (the site's motto is "it's not news... it's fark!" and is actually a very good way to keep up with the news if you read the politics tab along with the main page).

OT: I find what Jason says at the end of the original post to be quite true: less time working = more time for me to enjoy what freedoms I still have (not that Dem's are the only ones that want to take my freedoms; they just have a reputation of taking them (or trying to in some cases) faster than others).

That would be heavenly if we could get a good viable 3rd party...

Nope!

I wish he'd have taken 2895 days of vacation - we would have been much better off.

Look, the POTUS is never really on vacation. He always has an entourage and that briefcase following him around. If BHO wants to get out of the White House for a couple of hours and chase a little recalcitrant ball around I have no problem.

But a couple of hours are not the same as four weeks…

Bush’s problem was he either didn't care, was too removed from reality or was just not a good enough communicator to tell the unwashed masses that he could lead effectively from Crawford or Kennebunkport. His worst instance was to not immediately cut off his month long vacation BEFORE Katrina hit NO. (BTW: Cheney was pissed that he had to cut his hunting trip short by two days to return to DC.)

"lead effectively"

Re: The latest outrage

I would be more concerned with all of BHO's travels. It seems as if he is already campaigning for 2012.

Sure he did - every time he played golf.

Re: The latest outrage

This is a good follow up article.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/200...politico/28764

BHO is like a kid in school and the press is like his mommy. Her kid could never do anything wrong, it is always someone else's fault, defending that kid no matter what, villefying anyone that crosses him.

Shhh, you are just trying to distract America away from the health care debate.

Naw, this one would do that though. Too bad they pulled it, I could have fun with that one.
