Hatch urges Obama to investigate college's BCS
WASHINGTON – Shortly after winning last year's presidential election, Barack Obama said he was going to "to throw my weight around a little bit" to nudge college football's Bowl Championship Series to move to a playoff system.
On Wednesday, Sen. Orrin Hatch took him up on that. Hatch asked the president to launch a Justice Department investigation into the way the BCS — a complex system of computer rankings and polls that often draws criticism — crowns its national champion. "Mr. President, as you have publicly stated on multiple occasions, the BCS system is in dire need of reform," Hatch, R-Utah, wrote in a 10-page letter, obtained by The Associated Press. Hatch, who held a hearing on the BCS in July, told Obama that a "strong case" can be made that the BCS violates antitrust laws. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20091021/...hip_congress_3

Re: Hatch urges Obama to investigate college's BCS
But if it becomes something that's publicly funded, where are the cries for equality? Why can't WE play in the BCS? It's not fair that they have all the good players. So now there will be an entire Fairness Committee established to balance the talent across all the conferences. And of course we can't discriminate can we? Why no, so now we'll have to make it a bit softer because the girls want their chance to play too. No tackling, only touch, but not too hard. I can see it...
Whistle Blows...ref helps player up..."Personal Foul, unnecessary roughness, mean looks to the team, 15 yard penalty and loss of self esteem, second down"

Re: Hatch urges Obama to investigate college's BCS
Perhaps I need to contextually mark my comments <sarcasm> blah </sarcasm>, would that help? You ain't seen squat for rebellion until you mess with college football. If you can get 100+ Thousand screaming fans to attend a single regular season game, think how many would show up to protest government intervention! Man, that would be a sight...blue collars next to the blue bloods.
