White House declines to disclose visits by health industry executives
Reporting from Washington -- Invoking an argument used by President George W. Bush, the Obama administration has turned down a request from a watchdog group for a list of health industry executives who have visited the White House to discuss the massive healthcare overhaul.
Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington sent a letter to the Secret Service asking about visits from 18 executives representing health insurers, drug makers, doctors and other players in the debate. The group wants the material in order to gauge the influence of those executives in crafting a new healthcare policy. read more... http://www.latimes.com/news/nationwo...,1752248.story

Re: White House declines to disclose visits by health industry executives
Isn't this the same type of behavior that President Obama complained that President Bush did? I remember him campaigning about having an open and honest government when he was elected. I guess my memory is getting bad or else he is taking the unusual step of not keeping his promises.

Re: White House declines to disclose visits by health industry executives
Just the list of the names please, no BS of why, when, and for what and how. Obama brought this up many times as one of the reasons he wanted to be elected. He assailed GWB many times for this same thing with the same circumstances.
Let him follow what he said and skip the BS. Therefore, tell us exactly when it is appropriate to promise something and then do the opposite?

Re: White House declines to disclose visits by health industry executives
This is one of the things tht make me proud of my party . . and that I can use to refute the widely held opinion that we are cold and impersonal . .
In spite of the butt kicking we got in the last election, we remain committed to insuring the sucess of the President!! We care enough to let him know when someone 47 levels down in the organization fails to immediately respond to some crackpot organizations request for information about a meeting that was covered by the press. . We care enough to remind him of his promise to close Camp Chenney in Cuba and that he is behind schedule . . We care enough to constantly enquire about his birth cirtificate so that we don't miss the chance to wish him a Happy Birthday. By golly . . we are quite the warm and caring organization!!! Makes me proud to be associated with such a group I am sure we will be every bit as dedicated to helping him fullfill his promise of Health Care Reform and be 100 % behind him!

Re: White House declines to disclose visits by health industry executives
Its not our party... its the news that is pointing these things out... the left is growing increasingly frustrated with this man as well...
Why would we want to help him fulfill his promise of healthcare reform... the reform he wants, the public rejects...

Re: White House declines to disclose visits by health industry executives
Shucks Drew . . don't be shy about how much we are helping Obama . . we are responsible for his winning the election . . we handed it to him of a silver platter!! All we have to do is stay the course and the Dems will have a 80% majority in another 18 months.
And we all know the press never says anything bad about Obama . . . I have seen it stated here many tmes so it must be true!!

Re: White House declines to disclose visits by health industry executives
Well, as we all know now, staying the course was a whole lot better than what we got with Obama!

Re: White House declines to disclose visits by health industry executives
Inquiring minds wanted to know. My wife and i have some Wellpoint stock, so wanted to make sure our CEO got in there for some of the new pork. She was there so now will be looking for all those new stock growths to help with our money. Glad the government cares enough to help us out. The dividends should be real high since our CEO got invited.
Yep, staying the course was how we got him and now a good bit of those who objected to staying the course wish they would have stayed the course after getting Obama and seeing what the alternative was. the Republican problem was not staying the course, it was the messenger(s) (McCain and Palin) who delivered the message.
