I think his agenda was more conservative, but he did have many liberal ideas as well. That could be classified as a positive attribute since he appears to have been an independent thinker and had a value on things instead of parrotting a party line.

The guy who is responsible for the billboard says "no documented proof exists that MLK was Republican"
