Those voting for Obama

I am not sitting here trying to sway anyone to vote for McCain or trying to say not to vote for Obama. This is all just opinion, and my opinion is the same as last election both the Democratic and Republican candidates suck. I would just like to share anothers opinion a guy by the name of Neal Boortz, i know some are laughing but he has simplified and cleared up a few misconceptions and smoke tricks about Obama. And if you must know once again like the last 2 elections I am voting Libertarian, and I am a registered Republican.check out the link

Re: Those voting for Obama

No reason to read 6500 words. This quote tells you all you need to know:

Quote:
For the record, over those 10 elections I voted for the Republican candidate six times and the Libertarian four. Never have I voted for a Democrat for president. I see no need to vote for a Democrat since I have no plans or desires to become a ward of the government. Somehow I don't think 2008 is going to be the first time.

Boortz.com: Fair and balanced reporting.

Let me just focus on the current McCain line about how Obama's tax plan will hurt small business. Know what? This is exactly the same bogus line of reasoning that Republicans used to argue against the estate tax. Oh, the Family Businesses that would be sold to pay the taxes! Oh, The Family Farms! Oh, the BS! Here are the real figures for the estate tax. McCain's concern with small business is just the same song, second verse.

Re: Those voting for Obama

Boortz is an idiot, but honestly anyone voting for either of these 2 candidates is seriously kidding themselves.

Re: Those voting for Obama

Obama faces a real problem. He had risen the expectations bar so high for so many, that when he takes office it will be impossible for him to deliver. The expectations from McCain on the other hand, are modest, even from those who support him.
People will start seeing Obama as a failure quite early and many of his supporters (including African Americans, who expect him to turn Washington politics around in a few months) and then things may turn ugly. The race card will start playing hard, unlike during the current mild campaign.

Re: Those voting for Obama

Thanks Chode for balancing this out with a little bit of truth about McCain. And like I said I don't care which way you vote come Nov. 4, like some others,I will vote Bob Barr. Actually if anyone would like to more truth about McCain would be appreciated I've just been too tired lately too sift through all the nonsense.

I know that feeling! I had a spell recently where I suffered from Political Burnout myself. Fortunately, McCain chose Palin as his running mate, then his campaign degenerated into little more than a series of increasingly absurd ad hominem rants, and I suddenly felt uplifted and revived. Still, I've voted, so maybe I should lighten up and take a little break.

Re: Those voting for Obama

There is one thing in Neal Boortz writing that sticks out and its felt like this for a while at least to me, its a quote from Alexander Tyler circa 1787 and it goes :

"A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government. A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover that they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship."

Personally it feels like lately everyone is just looking for that self imposed BBD (bigger and better deal) not really looking into the prospering of the country.

Re: Those voting for Obama

Well I would prefer Obama as dictator.
Heck, if its a dictatorship, I could hope for Schwarzenegger.

So how many dictators has America had since 1787?

Re: Those voting for Obama

Sorry EP i wasnt 100% clear in referencing the quote i should have written:

"This quote is most often attributed to someone named Alexander Tyler writing in 1787 about the fall of the Athenian Republic."

Taken straight from Nealz blog

I know of three - Lincoln, Roosevelt, and Bush Jr.
