After An Exhausting Bailout, AIG Execs Needed A Break!

After Bailout, AIG Execs Head to California Resort
AIG documents obtained by Waxman's investigators show the company paid more than $440,000 for the retreat, including nearly $200,000 for rooms, $150,000 for meals and $23,000 in spa charges.

"Less than one week after the taxpayers rescued AIG, company executives could be found wining and dining at one of the most exclusive resorts in the nation," said Waxman as he prepared to question AIG executives.

Like Waxman and his cronies never pampered himslef using the taxpayers money . . . These halfwits who try to go up againes buinsess leaders and embarrass themselves should at least hire good staff to keep them from doing that . .

What did any of that exchange do to help their understanding of the underlying problems . . .

Perks the company couldn't afford if it needed a bailout. $440,000 is a lot of money, period.

Imagine you ask me for money to help you , because you are broke , then i find you the next day , in a fancy hotel , in the most expensive hotel suite ,having good times.

Re: After An Exhausting Bailout, AIG Execs Needed A Break!

The thing that bothers me more than AIG spending, is that Congress holds "Hearings" . . allegedly to understand what happened ( Enron for example ) . . Then turn it into a "Gotcha" contest with soundbites they can play back home to show how tough they were with "Those Guys" . . and do not learn one damn thing.

Did one single good thing come from the Enron hearings? . . from the AIG hearings?

Sadly, not one thing!

they needed that money to pay bonuses to their executives.

Seriously, I really dont think its a good idea to pour more money down the drain. Its really getting out of hand.

The AIG thing was a loan wasn't it? . . came before the bailout package. The stockholders are the ones who should be holding management accountable

Re: After An Exhausting Bailout, AIG Execs Needed A Break!

Just like when Frank Raines milked Fannie Mae ....... he walked away with 140 million ....... gets fined 30 some million as a settlement ........ no jail ..... no media coverage

if you let me "steal" 140 million ........ I promise I wont baulk over a 30 million fine !

thats not "shot in the fannie mae" thats "rape in the fannie mae"
