Being a conservative means you don't have to justify your position

I thought this remark deserved its own thread, so we wouldn't have all those "off topic" responses where some of us might want to link the policies of the current Administration and its possible idealogical successor to some of the current unconstitutional violations of civil liberties. But, hey, I don't want to natter on about goofy stuff like the 4th Amendment, due process, and the like; I just would like to throw open the floor for a discussion of the topic in the thread title.

No, you just don't have to justify your position according humanistic or populist philosophies.

But if you believe into elitism you're pretty justified in being a republican.

I am pro-life. There is no choice. Abortion is OK in this case or that case.... that is justification.

I am pro death penalty. You kill someone boom you're gone. NO justification.

Prior to the current adminsitration ( the Gang that can't shoot straight ) I did not have to justify my Consertive nature . . it's different now.

As it is now, I have trouble justifying it to myself . . . which is the only important need. This bunch of ill-informed, shoot from the hip, " I know better than anyone" monocrats are going to be hard to overcome. John McCain did his best with his last " I am not George Bush" speech . . but we have a long haul ahead for us

Bry, I wasn't trying to cut you out of credit for the thread title; I just assumed active members recognized the source. Personally, though, when I say something dumb, I hope most people overlook it.
