"Subsidies do work when applied to research or infrastructure (according to the article). This means that if the government decides to say fund a DARPA project to connect computers together in some sort of network of networks, this subsidy results in a net benefit to the majority of people. Subsidising WalMart, on the other hand, does not benefit the majority of people but rather the Walton family."

Do you think that we agree with this any more then you? You think this is a republican thing? The Demo's here in WA do the same thing and were doing the same thing when your champion Clinton was in office...

It has been proven that the last 8 years were the worst in this matter , giving passes and bailing out corporate business. The greatest Corporate Welfare in the century.I don't think ,we will ever spend as much giving free money to businesses as we did lately , never ..ever.we reached new heights....

Uhhhh, excuse please, I have a question or two.

Isn't there more of this now (the past two years) than ever in the history of the USA? If the answer is no, then we are headed in the right direction. However, if the answer is yes, then where is the Democrat restraint since Congress controls the purse strings and must pass the budgets? They are in power in the house and senate, aren't they or am I missing something here?

My actual opinon, this is not a Republican or Democrat thing, Congress is very irresponsible and spends money like it is going out of style. ALL OF THEM and every year!

Despite having never exercised his veto pen, and enjoying a Congress controlled by his own party in the first 6 years , today he vetoes everything that embarass his friends Lobbyists or his plans because the DEMS are back on the loop, thats why he should have been impeached .Bush is a criminal , corrupted guy . If you don't like it , well it is what is.

Mimo, I wasn't looking for a political hack job and a dodge of the questions. I wanted some answers to these important questions. Can you answer them or not? No, I do not like the fact that Bush had some responsibility the past two years because he did not veto the Democrat spending proposals that were passed by a Democrat controlled House and Senate. That is a fact.

Tell me about the past two years of Harry Ried and Whatever her name is from California. Remembering of course that the Democrat majority controls congress and the budget final approval. The President only proposes budgets, and Congress alone must approve before a penny can be spent.

While you were at it, who in the House is the biggest "earmark" spender in the whole congress. I think he is a Democrat named......hint, he used to be in the military. You tell me who it is and what the Democrats have done to shut that down as they originally promised.

I am not happy with this administration for the gazillions mistakes made and like i said on my earlier post :
We don't really have that much oversight of government currently,and citizens have just about zero say when it comes to laws themselves.Lobyism is a big part of the problem.

Neither am I happy with some of the many mistakes. Just as I was not happy with many of the mistakes of Bill Clinton, Bush I, and the list goes on and on.......

Boy, we can at least agree on that one....two times over! It almost makes one not to vote anymore. My wife and I just talked about that one today and it doesn't matter if your are a Republican or Democrat, cronyism runs the government.....and there is no patent on that issue.

Call it what you want with either party, I call them BRIBES and do honestly believe that.
