That was stupid of China... they shouldn't have surfaced, kept it secret and used it at a more appropriate time... but hey, thanks China, you just gave us cause and concern to re-up our anti-sub forces... morons

We're always working on sub detection anyways. The idea isn't to surprise us if there ever is a conflict, but rather to frighten and dissuaded us from the thought of engaging in a conflict.

Interesting, but I'm thinking this might have been a slow news day at The Daily Mail that needed to be livened up a bit. Here is a relevant article from Defensetech.org containing a link to the story that appears to be the actual version from last year.

Yep, fat and lazy is all too true, but the elements of The Daily Mail story are just too similar to last year's incident. And there hasn't been any independent support or verification for this story as The Daily Mail tells it. I call it a fictionalized retread.
