Have you seen the GI Joe cartoons my generation grew up on? They've had little to do with the original Joe for some time. For those 28 and below Joe is a guy who shoots lazers to no aim and only fights hand to hand because the censors thought they would breed a generation of psychopathic killers if even one cobra terrorist was shot with a purple beam of light or didn't parachute out of his blown up fly-a-magig.

Now I'm sure they're ruining it for the babyboomers, but for most people I know Joe best know for his incredibly lame public service announcements: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4W9WDZwDo-w
