British politics; Gordon Brown

I was just wondering how everyone is viewing Gordon Brown, especially in the light of the fiasco about calling a general election.
Also, as a supplemental, has anybody heard about Tony Blair and how his mission for peace in the middle east is going?

Well the thread response just about sums up what seems to be the general mood for politics in Britain: apathy.
What has caused that apathy would be an interesting discussion in its self.

Ironically enough, I don't actually have much to say about Gordon Brown. I hope that he will move British politics away from high PR and back to a more statesman like process. Yet he seems to have done little to help himself in the last month, so only time will tell.

I was kind of interested to find out whether Gordon Brown was on the radar of other countries in any way like as much as I perceived Tony Blair to be. I guess by the lack of response, I have my answer!

Don't hear much about him here in the states. But trust me, that's a good thing.

I wonder how many Americans even know that he is the PM? My guess is <20%.
