Gore shares Nobel Peace Prize with U.N. panel

http://edition.cnn.com/2007/POLITICS...f=mpstoryemail

/cough where was I, oh yea

So I see the Nobel organization is motivated more by politics than the subject at hand, so much for their reputation........

I am no particular fan of Mr. Gore - nor have I seen his film. But to argue that the committee selected him based on politics and not merit is to ignore careful and deliberative process used and is extremely disrespectful to the individuals on the committee and to the Norwegian Legislature which selects them.

The methods the Nobel Committee uses are public knowledge - although the actual voting is not.

Please let us in on the careful deliberations you have done to make your criticism worth anything?

Like Gore in their opinion was "worthy" of a Nobel prize in peace, of all things, it was also in my opinion that it was based on politics.

IMO, There's nothing more the UN would like than have the world under a One World Socialist Order run by the UN. The "human caused" (Capitalist U.S. in particular) Global Warming is their play card to gain more power in altering the sovereignty of other nations. And Al Gore plays nicely into their game.

Of cause capitalism has done a world of good. Sadly the UN seems to exist to pick up the pieces.

I thought the Nobel selection process was shrouded in secrecy, and as such was fair game for all kind of wild speculation.

I have to agree...but if they only award it to actual peace makers there might be some years when nobody get one...but even worse than Gore getting one for raising awareness was Kissinger getting one for dragging out the Viet Nam war...putrid.
