General: Turkey's troops ready for Iraq

Turkey's top general said Thursday his army — which has been massing troops on the border with Iraq — was prepared to attack separatist Kurdish guerrillas in a cross-border offensive.

no good can come of this... and the U.S. is stuck between a very big rock and a very big hard place.

Block Turkey and support a terrorist group, or allow them and have the Kurds... which absolutly love us, revolt!

It was clear to all but the ideologs that this was a likely outcome. This is another of the centuries old conflicts that, because of their ignorance and prejudice, were blind to.

To add to Drew's posts: Turkey is a NATO ally, so we are obligated to defend them. But wait, against whom? The Kurds! Who, as Drew points out, are about the only "success" in the fiasco that is Iraq. And since we've been training and equipping and advising them - it would really be us against us.

How's that for idiotic.
