Actually, it's not that funny. Some people actually buy into these bogus conspiracy theories, which can be dangerous.

The more you know (or at least think you know) about the system the less you rule out.

That depends if the information you're being fed is 100% accurate, and provides accurate alternative points of view.

If some of the major news outlets start covering this story instead of some 3rd party website I've never heard of; then I might give it some more validity.

I know people who work in the national media, the (the gov') dictates what gets on the air. Why do you think in a world as complex as ours ABC CBS and NBC all broadcast the same stories save the token human interest piece. Why do you think the exclusive no longer exist? There is no independent major media, they all get their news from secondary sources because they have all but eliminated their investigative journalism departments.

Look at the end credits on a broadcast and see how much footage is "courtesy of the AP" courtesy of the "Christian Science Monitor" ect...

I very much sympathize with your skepticism, but in a case like this you might as well ask a rock than rely on the major media.

As far as I know, even the major media outlets are looking at blogs for potential news stories these days.

Seeing how "juicy" of a conspiracy theory this is, I doubt it would be "overlooked" by major news media outlets, unless of course it was another bogus conspiracy theory.

I suppose you could say ALL the major news media outlets are "conspiring" together to omit and release certain stories, but I'd find that Farrrrrrrrrrrr fetched.
All the major news media outlets compete against one another for ratings, and they all have varying degree of political motivations across the political spectrum. For that reason, I don't believe in news media conspiracys either.

Partisan politics are a distraction and if you rely on them to make any judgment then your faith is misplaced. I'll admit when I'm speaking on something less than concrete, but what I said about the media is not a conspiracy it's the stone cold truth.
