Amniotic Stem Cells
Researchers have found stem cells in amniotic fluid. This is a less contriversial source. But I wonder, if researchers found cures for Parkinson's and Altzheimer's and paralysis and cancer in the amniotic sten cells, would the democrats still tout the bensfits of embryotic stem cells?

Stem cells are just stem cells - just blanks. The Democrats, for this reason, would have good reason for touting the benefits of them. Politically though, they would have to bow down to the public friendly source.
In my opinion, this is a scientific debate that, given it's complexity, should not be left to politicians. Politicians, as we know, have to endear themselves to the public and the public are extremely uneducated in such matters. They are highly prone to making conclusions without all the necessary information, and regularly misinterpret or just plain don't understand the information they do have. So why should the public say what scientists can and can't do? The people in charge of the scientists should make those calls, the heads of the institutions doing the research, they are the ones who should have a sound ethical and moral standpoint on these issues. Either that or put educated people into office.

But if the dems bow down to this, then in essence, they are respecting the fact that an embryo has value, something that would shatter their abortion views.

And then I'd add; "It's too bad that these cures had to wait until now when much more research could have been done during the early 2000's except for the missguided intrusion of the conservative Christian's and the single veto of our worst President ever." It is not democrats who have trouble keeping their religious dogma out of science.

Religion and science don't mix well IMHO and neither do politics and science. All three can't be a good thing. It's good that you can see the greater good Yustr, I wish there were more people out there like you who can keep an open mind regardless of political party or religion. Unfortunately, those morons who can't seem to be the ones with the power.
