they can do the same with your PC mic and your pc webcam , i read it somewhere a little while ago .

Actually, the ability to remotely activate a cell phone mic and/or tap conversations was authorized by the original version of the Patriot Act. Even very small police departments got equipment to do this soon after the act was passed. There are supposed to be legal safeguards in place to prevent abuse, but in practice, the only real limitation is that "improperly" obtained evidence can't be used in court. uh huh.
