Texas Landlords Sue Over Immigration Law
Landlords sue for the right to rent to illegal immigrants.
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...122201523.html ps : It looks like there will be a lot of vacant appartments and houses in the near future , and house value will become cheap too , am i wrong ?

ummm..yeah...
I will argue that land values may well indeed go up, and I'll defend that... there used to be a group of illegals living in my neighborhood...there were obviously multiple families in the same house, and they always had way too many vehicles parked around...let's just skip it all and say they were trash and everyone here hated them for their constant loud obnoxious music and their 'ways'...I'm sure there continued presence would have deflated the value of homes in the vicinity... the point being that many illegals live this way (no great insult intended, but its just their lifestyle and that's pretty much a fact) and I argue their presence many times ruins the values of homes nearby... the lifestyle in Mexico is different than in the U.S.A., their attitudes towards the environment, animals, and general santition are far different....need I say more? hi wozer
I would go crazy because of the " constant loud obnoxious music " If it happens where i live , i don't care i will call 911 if the guy doesn't wanna put the volume down . And you got a good point and i agree with you about the value of homes would have deflated because of trash and noise .

Landlords like to rent to illegals because first they don't have to repair the place. Illegals are willing to take property most people wouldn't.
Second, they can charge above-market rates because the illegals also pack more people into smaller areas than most Americans would tolerate. This is sometimes done against local laws & building codes. Third, the illegals are much less likely to cause problems by complaining, etc... as they risk being deported, which then leads to Fourth, it normally takes 90 days for a Rental Property Owner to evict a tenant that refuses to pay rent (for whatever reason, sometimes is is completely justified, for example that living conditions are uninhabitable due to no heat, no electricity, no water, no plumbing, no front door, etc...). The illegal status of the tenant gives the RPO the opportunity to use INS as a means of clearing out the property in order to re-lease it to someone else, in a faster time-frame than the 90 days typically outlined by (usually) State Law. |
