UK : Religion does more harm than good
82% say faith causes tension in country where two thirds are not religious
The poll also reveals that non-believers outnumber believers in Britain by almost two to one. It paints a picture of a sceptical nation with massive doubts about the effect religion has on society: 82% of those questioned say they see religion as a cause of division and tension between people. Only 16% disagree. http://www.guardian.co.uk/religion/S...src=rss&feed=1

16 percenter.
If you use religion as a way to live your life as opposed to a way for everyone else to live then no one gets harmed. If you take religion beyond self improvement and teaching others (not prostelitizing or telling them how they wrong and you right) then your just doing your own thing and not following God.

I thought it was a lot more than 2/3 people aren't religious here...
I say Religion does more harm than good, but I don't just mean in the UK. I love the Uk...

I'm not sure if I fully understand your post 40...
I think it is the responsibility of all believers to in some way 'teach' their beliefs...there is of course a fine line between 'teaching' and being a self important jerkwad...the best teaching is by example with very few words as to 'why' you act that way (unless asked of course)... unfortunately most believers take their teaching way too far and offend others, hence the friction created by such people which just alienates others |
